Unexpected blues

by bethanybump

I don’t know why or how it happened, but I love perusing design blogs in my spare time (sometimes in my work time… oops). It’s not as though I am a particularly handy or crafty person with extra money to spend on decor. But I bookmark design inspirations anyhow, possibly for the future home I will have when I am a rich, famous writer. 🙂

I adore the sneak peak posts on Design*Sponge for this reason. It gives readers little tours of lovely homes and spaces, decorated by some of the most creative, undiscovered minds out there. Here’s a post I came across across this weekend that made me drool over the beautiful blue hues used in this South Carolina home:

And here’s what the homeowners have to say about the space:

“This home in Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina (just outside of Charleston), is home to interior designer Cortney Bishop, husband Baker and the couple’s two young children — Ryder (5) and Lucy Kohl (18 months) — plus two dogs. That’s a lot of foot traffic, but somehow, Cortney has managed to create a serene and welcoming home. She loves to combine styles, trusting that by mixing things she loves, it will all come together.”

Lovely!
